About the Role:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician supports manufacturing operations by performing preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment, automated systems, and facility electrical infrastructure. This role focuses heavily on electrical troubleshooting, controls, and industrial power systems to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime. The Electrical Maintenance Technician works closely with operations and engineering teams to maintain efficient, compliant, and continuous production.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, industrial machinery, and automated production equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components including motors, drives, sensors, relays, control panels, and power distribution systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls, and electrical circuits.

  • Respond promptly to electrical equipment failures to minimize production downtime.

  • Install, wire, test, and commission new electrical equipment and machinery.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, OSHA regulations, and internal safety procedures.

  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using maintenance logs or CMMS systems.

  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in electrical technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.

  • 2 or more years of experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and control circuits.

  • Experience working with PLCs, variable frequency drives, motors, and industrial automation equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Proficiency using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and voltage testers.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, or on-call rotations as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in electrical technology, industrial electricity, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience supporting tablet press, encapsulation, or similar electrically driven manufacturing equipment.

  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms for work order tracking and preventive maintenance scheduling.

  • Experience working in GMP-regulated or FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety programs, lockout tagout procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
