Job Description:

Junior Software Engineer

San Francisco · In Person (5 Days/Week)

About the Company

We are building the control center for U.S. duty drawback, a $10B per year opportunity hiding in plain sight. Using AI and automation, we help retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers recover tariffs paid on imported goods when goods are later exported, returned, or destroyed. Most companies do not even realize they are eligible. We ensure no dollar is left behind.

We are a small, high intensity team building real AI systems that directly impact real businesses. We are hiring one exceptional New Grad / Junior Engineer to join us.

About the Role

This is not a traditional junior role.

You will work directly with senior engineers and founders to ship production AI systems from day one. You will help build LLM powered agents, data pipelines, and product features that automate complex regulatory workflows.

You must be comfortable moving fast, learning aggressively, and taking ownership beyond your experience level.

This role is in person in San Francisco, five days per week.

What Youll Do

  • Build and ship production features across the stack alongside senior engineers.

  • Develop and experiment with LLM powered agents and AI driven workflows.

  • Prototype quickly, test ideas, and turn working experiments into reliable production systems.

  • Use AI native development workflows to accelerate iteration and increase output.

  • Contribute to backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines.

  • Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand real world use cases.

  • Operate with high ownership and high accountability in a fast moving startup environment.

Must Haves

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Waterloo or a top tier CS program.

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and systems design.

  • Experience building real projects involving LLMs, agents, or AI driven applications.

  • AI native development workflow, comfortable using tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar.

  • Demonstrated ability to ship projects independently outside of coursework.

  • In person in San Francisco, five days per week.

  • High intensity, high ownership mindset and willingness to grind when needed.

Strong Pluses

  • Internships at top tier technology companies or high growth startups.

  • Side projects involving agent frameworks, orchestration systems, or applied AI products.

  • Experience deploying production applications to cloud infrastructure.

  • Evidence of unusual drive, such as hackathon wins, startup attempts, or ambitious technical builds.

Who Thrives Here

  • Builders who want real responsibility early.

  • Engineers who move faster than their peers.

  • People who care more about impact than titles.

  • Individuals who see what needs to be done and do it.

If you have built AI systems you are proud of and want to work in a high ownership, high velocity environment, we want to talk.
