About the Role:
The Tool and Die Maker is a skilled manufacturing professional responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, repair, and development of precision jigs, fixtures, dies, and master tooling used in metal stamping and machining operations. This contract to direct role supports high quality production by building and maintaining complex tooling solutions that meet strict dimensional, safety, and performance requirements. The position is ideal for an experienced tool and die professional who thrives in a hands on, precision driven manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:

Plan layouts and determine the sequence of operations for fabrication, assembly, and repair of jigs, fixtures, dies, and master tooling.

Set up and operate conventional, manual, and CNC machine tools to produce precision components.

Interpret blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, CAD and CAM files to manufacture tooling accurately.

Compute and verify dimensions, tolerances, and specifications of workpieces.

Fabricate, assemble, and fit tooling components to ensure proper alignment and performance.

File, grind, adjust, smooth, and polish tooling surfaces to achieve required finishes and tolerances.

Test completed tools and dies to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.

Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy and defects.

Perform tooling modifications, repairs, and preventative maintenance to extend tool life.

Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.

Support ISO compliance procedures and adhere to quality management system requirements.

Work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of five years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker or working with jigs and fixtures in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated ability to fabricate precision tooling from concept or engineering drawings.

Strong experience setting up and operating conventional and CNC machine tools.

Ability to read and interpret detailed tool design drawings and blueprints.

Solid understanding of machining practices, tolerances, and metalworking processes.

Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience in ISO compliant or certified manufacturing environments.
